Before and after fleur de lis tummy tuck Tummy tucks are a great way to get the body you’ve always wanted. The fleur de lis tummy tuck is a variation on the traditional tummy tuck that not only tightens your abdominal muscles but also sculpts them into a pleasing shape. In this blog post, we’ll show you before and after photos of someone who had this procedure done by our team.
Before: This patient was self-conscious about her belly after having three children, and she wanted to get rid of the loose skin that was making her feel uncomfortable. She also wanted to have more definition in her abdominal muscles—something that wasn’t possible with just dieting and exercise alone.
After: After undergoing a fleur de lis tummy tuck, this patient got exactly what she wanted! Her abdomen looks tighter than ever, and she says it feels like “she’s carried around a six-pack” instead of an “eight-pack.”

It’s sometimes the case that if you’re interested in one cosmetic surgery, you might be interested in others as well. It makes sense. You’ve already made the decision to undergo surgery, which is a really big decision, and you might be thinking, well if I’m already having surgery why not include another procedure?
At The Plastic Surgery Clinic we get asked the question of whether you can have a Brazilian butt lift and tummy tuck together a lot. Many of our patients love the look of a flat stomach and curvy behind, and so do we—it looks great.
So here’s our answer. Is it surgically possible to combine the Brazilian butt lift and the tummy tuck? Absolutely. Do we recommend it? Not really, and here’s why.
Some Surgical Procedures Work Better Together Than Others
You may have heard that it’s actually better to combine surgical procedures because it results in a shorter recovery time; and you’re right, this is totally true. But this really depends on what surgeries you are looking to combine.
A procedure like the mommy makeover, where multiple surgeries (often including breast augmentation, tummy tuck, and liposuction) are combined into one operation, does actually amount to less recovery time than if you had all these surgeries done separately. That being said, it’s still a pretty substantial surgery with an extensive recovery period.
The thing with the mommy makeover is that all these procedures work well when they’re combined. The tummy tuck will often already include liposuction whether done with a breast augmentation or not, and the breasts and tummy are all on the same side of the body making surgery and recovery much easier to manage.
Surgery Times and Overall Health
The other thing to keep in mind is the time that each procedure takes. Both the Brazilian butt lift and the tummy tuck are relatively long and involved procedures. In order to combine the two, a patient would have to be in perfect health, meaning that all of their pre-operative labs check out, and they have a healthy weight and BMI, in order to be able to be under anesthetic for a longer period of time and to withstand and undergo that much surgery.
However, the longer you’re under in any kind of surgery, the higher the post-operative risks are, and at The Plastic Surgery Clinic we prefer to play it on the safe side and not open our patients up to any unnecessary risks. Your safety and wellbeing ALWAYS come first.
Recovery After Brazilian Butt Lift and Tummy Tuck
Last, but definitely not least, a major reason why we do not recommend combining the BBL and the tummy tuck, is because recovery would be extremely difficult. Because both the BBL and the tummy tuck are surgeries that are quite complex and lengthy, it means that you’re looking at an extensive recovery period for each surgery.
For the BBL you’re looking at about 1 week off of work, but at least 4 weeks before you engage in any strenuous exercise. And this is really the big recovery hiccup here, for at least 2 weeks you won’t be able to sit on your bum or lie flat on your back, and you’ll probably have to stay off your bum for extended periods of time for several weeks.
With the tummy tuck, you’re looking at a 4-6 week recovery period, at least before you can take up any strenuous exercise, and in the first days following your procedure you may have trouble standing up straight. We’ll also be asking you not to lie on your stomach.
And there’s the rub: if you’ve combined the tummy tuck procedure with the BBL, you’ll need to stay off of your back and bum, which makes it almost impossible for you to lie down, and by default makes rest and recovery so much more difficult. So ultimately your recovery time may end up being longer than if you just had the two procedures done separately.
Taking the time to rest and recover after any surgery is so important. Your body has been through a lot, and the goal of any cosmetic procedure is to achieve your desired result. Allowing your body to recover fully and following your surgeon’s post-operative guidelines super closely are a major part of how you are going to guarantee that you get the look that you want.
Here’s the thing—it is certainly possible to combine the BBL with the tummy tuck into one procedure, especially if you have an amazing and super experienced surgeon performing your surgery. However, a super experienced surgeon will also put your health, safety, and recovery first, and will make sure you’re not taking on too much.
Surgery is a big deal, and shouldn’t be rushed. Sometimes it’s better to take the slightly longer road in order to get exactly what you want and to create the best result possible.

Are you ready to get the perfect Beverly Hills body you’ve always dreamed of having? If you want to have a firmer, more sculpted butt and a tighter abdomen, then a Brazilian butt lift/tummy tuck combo might just be the right procedure for you. But if you’re contemplating plastic surgery in Beverly Hills, you probably have a lot of questions. One of your biggest questions might be what does the recovery timeline look like for a Brazilian butt lift/tummy tuck combo.
Plastic surgery is a serious procedure, and it’s important for you to be well informed about the entire process before you make this big decision. Well, you’ve come to the right place! Dr. Bruno in Beverly Hills is committed to helping his patients make the right choices for themselves, and we are here to answer all your questions about Brazilian butt lifts, tummy tucks and the recovery timeline for a combined procedure.
First Things First, What is a Brazilian Butt Lift and Tummy Tuck?
Brazilian butt lifts are all the rage in Hollywood, Beverly Hills and beyond! During this procedure, fat is liposuctioned out of your problem areas, such as your abdomen, thighs or love handles, and then it’s injected into your gluteal muscles. The result is a natural-looking, more contoured butt that will get you noticed on Sunset Blvd.
A tummy tuck, or abdominoplasty, is another popular Beverly Hills procedure. During a tummy tuck, excess skin, and fat deposits are removed from your abdomen so that you have a flatter, slimmer look. Additionally, Dr. Bruno repositions the muscles of the abdomen to create a tighter stomach area. This is especially helpful for women who are getting tummy tucks after pregnancy, or for patients who have lost a significant amount of weight.
What’s The Recovery Process?
For Up To TWO Weeks:
Take 10-14 days off work
Once stabilized get mobile (moving)
Don’t sit on your butt for two weeks
Sleep on your side
Avoid squatting or stretching
Wear your girdles day and night
Brazilian butt lifts and tummy tucks are serious procedures, and the recovery process is important, not only for your health but also for your long-term results. After a Brazilian butt lift/tummy tuck combo, Dr. Bruno recommends you take between 10 and 14 days off of work.
As you are recovering, you’ll need to follow multiple steps to ensure that you are recuperating well. As soon as you are stabilized, you will need to get up and move your legs and also wear compression stockings to avoid blood clots. Next, to minimize any damage to the fat cells that have been transferred into your buttocks, you can’t sit on your butt for two weeks. While this may seem like an impossible task – after all, how can you avoid sitting for two whole weeks – it is possible to follow doctor’s orders. We suggest that you modify your sitting by using pillows under your thighs, or sitting on your side. We also recommend that you sleep on your side, rather than on your back and buttocks. In addition to avoiding sitting, you’ll also want to avoid squatting or stretching your buttocks for two weeks, as these movements can also damage the newly injected fat cell grafts.
As you’re recovering, you’ll want to wear your girdles throughout the day and night, both over your buttocks and your tummy. These important compression garments prevent tissue swelling, which may interfere with your results. Girdles should only be removed for showering.
For Up To SIX Weeks:
No heavy lifting
Do not exercise
While you can return to work after about two weeks of recovery time, you’ll need to avoid doing any heavy lifting for four to six weeks. And, you’ll need to lay off the workouts, too. After a Brazilian butt lift/tummy tuck combo you should not perform any exercise for two months.
