But in today’s world, where women are expected to look their best at all times and with an increasing pressure on them to be more and more perfect, the need for breast augmentation has skyrocketed.

Breast augmentation is the process of increasing the size and shape of a woman’s breasts with the use of implants. It can be done in a variety of ways: from simple saline implants to silicone gel ones; from submuscular placement (where the implant sits beneath the muscle) to subglandular placement (where it sits under both muscle and gland); from one operation alone to multiple operations over time. And there are many different reasons why people choose breast augmentation: some want larger breasts; some want smaller ones; some want bigger but still natural-looking ones; others simply want to feel more confident about their bodies.

There are many considerations when choosing breast augmentation. You should always talk with your surgeon about what types of implants they prefer using, how many operations they recommend doing at once (if any), how long each operation will take (some can last as

When it comes to breast augmentation, there are two main options: saline and silicone.

Saline implant breasts are made of a salt-water solution that’s injected into the chest cavity to create the desired size and shape. The saline solution will eventually be absorbed by the body.

Silicone breast implants are made from chemicals that bond with human tissue to form a permanent shell around the implant, which can make them more durable than their saline counterparts.

Important Safety Information and Boxed Warning for MENTOR® Breast Implants
WARNING:
Breast implants are not considered lifetime devices. The longer people have them, the greater the chances are that they will develop complications, some of which will require more surgery.

Breast implants have been associated with the development of a cancer of the immune system called breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL). This cancer occurs more commonly in patients with textured breast implants than smooth Implants, although rates are not well defined. Some patients have died from BIA-ALCL.

Patients receiving breast implants have reported a variety of systematic symptoms such as joint pain, muscle aches, confusion chronic fatigue, autoimmune diseases and others. Individual patient risk for developing these symptoms has not been well established. Some patients report complete resolution of symptoms when the implants are removed without replacement.

Caution: US law restricts this device to sale by or on the order of a physician.

The sale and distribution of Mentor Breast Implant Devices are restricted to users and/or user facilities that provide information to patients about the risks and benefits of the device prior to its use in the form and manner specified in approved labeling to be provided by Mentor Worldwide LLC.

The MENTOR® Collection of Breast Implants are indicated for breast augmentation – in women who are at least 22 years old for MENTOR® MemoryGel® Breast Implants or MENTOR® MemoryShape® Breast Implants, and at least 18 years old for MENTOR® Saline Breast Implants. MENTOR® Breast Implants are also indicated for breast reconstruction.

Breast implant surgery should not be performed in women:

With active infection anywhere in their body
With existing cancer or pre-cancer of their breasts who have not received adequate treatment for those conditions
Who are currently pregnant or nursing

Safety and effectiveness have not been established in patients with autoimmune diseases (for example lupus and scleroderma), a weakened immune system, conditions that interfere with wound healing and blood clotting, or reduced blood supply to breast tissue. Patients with a diagnosis of depression, or other mental health disorders, should wait until resolution or stabilization of these conditions prior to undergoing breast implantation surgery.

There are risks associated with breast implant surgery. You should be aware that breast implants are not lifetime devices and breast implantation may not be a one-time surgery. You may need additional unplanned surgeries on your breasts because of complications or unacceptable cosmetic outcomes. Many of the changes to your breast following implantation are irreversible (cannot be undone) and breast implants may affect your ability to breastfeed, either by reducing or eliminating milk production.

Consult your physician for a full discussion of risks and benefits to determine whether this procedure is right for you. The success of this procedure depends on many factors, including your physical condition and your body’s ability to tolerate the procedure. Use care in the selection of your doctors and hospital, based on their skill and experience.

Breast implants are not lifetime devices and breast implantation may not be a one-time surgery. The most common complications for breast augmentation with MemoryGel® Implants include any reoperation, capsular contracture, nipple sensation changes, and implant removal with or without replacement. The most common complications with MemoryShape® Implants for breast augmentation include reoperation for any reason, implant removal with or without replacement, and ptosis. The most common complications for breast reconstruction with MENTOR® MemoryGel® Breast Implants include any reoperation, implant removal with or without replacement, and capsular contracture. The most common complications with MENTOR® MemoryShape® Breast Implants for breast reconstruction include reoperation for any reason, implant removal with or without replacement, and capsular contracture. The most common complications for breast reconstruction with MENTOR® Saline-filled Breast Implants include re-operation, implant removal, capsular contracture, breast pain, and implant deflation. A lower risk of complication is rupture. The health consequences of a ruptured silicone gel breast implant have not been fully established. MRI screenings are recommended three years after initial implant surgery and then every two years after to detect silent rupture. Breast implants are also associated with the risk of breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL), an uncommon type of lymphoma. An individual’s risk of developing BIA-ALCL with MENTOR® Breast Implants is low based on the incidence of worldwide cases.

Detailed information regarding the risks and benefits associated with MENTOR® Breast Implants is provided in several educational brochures for both augmentation and reconstruction:

ARTOURA® Breast Tissue Expanders and CONTOUR PROFILE® Breast Tissue Expanders are used for breast reconstruction after mastectomy, correction of an underdeveloped breast, scar revision, and tissue defect procedures. The expander is intended for temporary subcutaneous or submuscular implantation and is not intended for use beyond six months.

ARTOURA® Breast Tissue Expanders and CONTOUR PROFILE® Tissue Expanders contain a magnet within the internal injection domes and are NOT MRI compatible. The device could be moved by the MRI causing pain or displacement, potentially resulting in a revision surgery. DO NOT use the ARTOURA® Breast Tissue Expander and CONTOUR PROFILE® Tissue Expander in patients that have a previously implanted device such as pacemakers, drug infusion devices, artificial sensing devices, etc. that could be affected by a magnetic field. Mentor has not tested the effects of radiation therapy with ARTOURA® Breast Tissue Expanders and CONTOUR PROFILE® Expander devices. The incidence of extrusion of the expander has been shown to increase when the expander has been placed in injured areas: scarred, heavily irradiated or burned tissue, crushed bone areas, where severe surgical reduction of the area has previously been performed; and where steroids are used in the surgical pocket. Detailed information about indications, contraindications, warnings, and precautions associated with the use of ARTOURA® Breast Tissue Expanders and CONTOUR PROFILE® Expanders are provided in the Instructions for Use (IFU) available online at www.mentorwwllc.com

THE EDELSTEIN DIFFERENCE
Collectively, we have performed nearly 8000 breast augmentation procedures in Toronto.
Drs. Edelstein and Jindal have designed the breast augmentation procedure to make it safer and to have a less intensive recovery period. All of the surgeons at Edelstein Cosmetic perform these special, exclusive techniques. The advanced surgical skill of our surgeons allows us to achieve less risk of capsular contracture. That’s just one reason to consider Edelstein Cosmetic if you’re thinking about a breast augmentation in Toronto.

NO POST-SURGERY MASSAGE NEEDED FOR “NO MASSAGE BREAST AUGMENTATION”
Less risk of capsular contracture means that our patients do not routinely do post-operative massage. Massage usually starts one week after surgery, when everything is still raw inside. Massage may actually increase the risk of bleeding and, therefore, capsular contracture!

As a result, you’ll only need to perform massage after your breast augmentation if it is recommended, which is very rare. You’ll still be monitored by us during the initial recovery period and if it seems that one breast is not softening normally, then massage may be recommended.

RAPID RECOVERY
You most likely want to recover from your breast augmentation surgery in Toronto and get back to your normal schedule as quickly as possible. The faster the better and the sooner you’ll be able to see your results, which is why we perform rapid recovery breast augmentation. The rapid recovery technique has allowed many of our patients to return to normal non-strenuous activities within a short period of time.

Breast Augmentation Toronto Interview

INTEGRAL TO THE MIND AND SOUL OF EVERY WOMAN IS THE PERCEPTION OF THEIR APPEARANCE
How you look has a profound impact on your psyche and without that satisfaction, you may never achieve the self-fulfillment you deserve. According to the University of Florida study led by Dr. Figueroa-Haas in 2007 [1], women who have had breast augmentation surgery experienced a boost in their self-esteem to top levels.

WE SEEK TO MAKE YOUR RECOVERY AS QUICK AS POSSIBLE BY DOING THE FOLLOWING:
We prescribe proactive medications to prepare your body before surgery even begins.
We minimize the use of strong pain medications to reduce postoperative nausea and vomiting.
We minimize the amount of time you spend under anaesthesia, thereby decreasing recovery issues (eg nausea and / or vomiting) associated with its use.
We perform the surgery delicately. This leads to less tissue trauma, inflammation and bleeding, as well as works to cut down on pain and complications, particularly capsular contracture. Less risk of capsular contracture means that our patients do not routinely do post-operative massage, which can be painful.
We select proportionally sized implants with dimensional planning.
We minimize the use of medical devices (like drainage tubes or pain pumps).
We follow your surgeon’s post-operative healing regimen.
WHAT IS BREAST AUGMENTATION SURGERY?
Breast augmentation is a surgical procedure involving the placement of implants under the soft breast tissue to enhance the volume and shape of your breasts. Breast augmentation can improve your personal body image, increase your cup size, help correct unevenness in breast size or shape, and can restore breasts after changes caused by childbirth, breastfeeding, losing a significant amount of weight, or aging.

With proper preparation and the advanced surgical procedures offered at Edelstein Cosmetic, breast augmentation surgery is safe, effective, and requires little downtime.

BLOODLESS BREAST AUGMENTATION AND DRAIN FREE RECOVERY
Bloodless Breast Augmentation Toronto

A fiber optic lighted retractor is used to allow for a clear view of the operating area.

Before the breast implant is placed in the body, your surgeon meticulously cauterizes every blood vessel in the area of insertion, eliminating any blood loss and buildup of fluid during recovery. In addition to aiding your recovery, you do not need drains after surgery even when the incision is placed in the armpit (trans-axillary). Your surgeon does this wherever the incisions are placed, whether it is in the breast fold (infra-mammary), in the armpit or around the areola (peri-areolar).

Bloodless breast augmentation is an original innovation of Dr. Edelstein and as such, he has developed methods to implant through all three of these major incision types.

The advanced technique is a tribute to Dr. Edelstein’s commitment to designing a procedure that is safer and shortens the recovery process for patients. All the more reason you should consider Edelstein Cosmetic if you’ve been thinking about a breast augmentation in Toronto.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT BREAST IMPLANT SIZE WITH DIMENSIONAL BREAST AUGMENTATION
You want attractive sexy breasts, not just bigger breasts. Dr Edelstein has studied breast augmentation techniques for more than 15 years and has learned the techniques and approaches to virtually every type of breast augmentation surgery.

WWe do not believe in the “one size fits all” approach to breast augmentation. Each and every patient is treated as a unique individual to deliver the best possible outcome for their particular situation. To achieve a highly satisfying outcome, a sophisticated technique known as dimensional breast augmentation is used for the most natural looking breast implants.

DIMENSIONAL BREAST AUGMENTATION
Dimensional breast augmentation is designed to consistently achieve the most natural–looking result so you won’t look disproportionate or “plastic”. It is a formula that is complemented by the keen artistic eye of our breast surgeons, offering you a custom surgical experience from your initial consultation through recovery. Dimensional breast augmentation is a method based on the measurements of your original, pre-surgery body contour and your desired outcome. It considers such variables as your height, weight, breast width, breast height, distance between nipple and breast fold, as well as your desired cup size to determine the most suitable implant size, type and specific surgical technique.

With dimensional breast augmentation, you will enjoy an improvement that is a pleasing enhancement of the harmonious proportions of your overall body contours. It has improved the rate of satisfaction considerably for our patients. You’ll be less confused about what implant size to get and less hesitant about your surgery. (In fact, a better mindset going into surgery has actually been scientifically proven to improve your rate of recovery!)

THE NO-TOUCH TECHNIQUE WITH THE KELLER FUNNEL™
You may have heard about The Keller Funnel™.

The Keller Funnel™ is a single-use medical device that is designed to make the insertion of cohesive gel silicone breast implants easier, due to an internal hydrophilic coating that becomes very slippery when wet. It can be used for textured or smooth implant surfaces.

The implant is passed from its sterile container directly into the Keller Funnel™, and then slides through it into the space created inside the breast. In this way, the implant never touches the surgeon’s gloved hands or the skin of the patient’s breast. This is known as the “No Touch Technique”.
The Keller Funnel is believed to reduce the risk of capsular contracture, although the risk of capsular contracture is already extremely low for our patients—only 1%, which is exponentially lower than the current average of 10%-25%!

HOW TO ENHANCE YOUR BREASTS
A routine surgical procedure involving placement of implants to add volume to your breasts.

BREAST AUGMENTATION ENABLES YOU TO
Feel sexier and more attractive.
Enjoy wearing the clothes you’ve always wanted to wear, and know that you look great in them without a padded bra.
Turn heads at the beach.
Look more feminine or reclaim lost femininity.
Be admired for your improved body contour.
Not be embarrassed about the asymmetry of your breasts.
Replace the volume lost from pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Have a body you can feel fantastic about.
It is also important that you are informed about what the surgery entails, and that you have realistic expectations about what breast augmentation can accomplish for you. During the initial consultation at our clinic in Toronto, your doctor will assess your state of health and suitability for this procedure.

ARE YOU A CANDIDATE?
The best candidate for breast augmentation surgery is fairly fit and generally healthy. Meeting these basic physical requirements ensures that your body can handle this elective surgery, and that you will recover quickly afterwards. If you have recently given birth, you should be finished breastfeeding at least 1 to 2 months before the consultation so that your breasts will have settled into their post-baby size and shape.

IMPORTANT ISSUES TO CONSIDER WITH BREAST AUGMENTATION SURGERY
Breast augmentation surgery is a procedure that can produce very desirable results for the right candidates. However, you should be aware that each patient’s body can accommodate different types and sizes of implants. This means there may be limitations to the size of the implants that are appropriate for your body. During your consultation, your doctor will listen to your needs and goals, and will be honest about what is possible and recommended for your unique physique.

As with all surgeries, there are some risks associated with breast augmentation. At Edelstein Cosmetic in Toronto, our doctors perform careful, advanced surgical techniques to avoid complications; however, there is still a very slight (a 1%) risk of capsular contracture.

Some types of implants may rotate and will need to be surgically readjusted. It is also important to remember that even today’s high-quality breast implants only last about 15-20 years, and that future surgery may be required to replace either one or both of the implants.

YOUR COMMITMENT TO ENHANCING YOUR CURVES
You have made a commitment to improving your appearance that will enable you to experience the contentment of heightened confidence, beauty, and self-esteem.

Our surgeons use advanced techniques and tools to ensure they make the smallest incisions necessary, and that they minimize tissue damage during surgery. An incision must be made on or beside each breast so that the implants may be inserted, but scarring will be minimal and very difficult to see once your body has healed. There are three possible incision locations to insert the implants.

1The first is placing the implants through an incision underneath the breast, in the inframammary fold. This incision gives your surgeon the best opportunity to visually plan and prepare the pockets for your implants, and may work best to correct breast asymmetry where the inframammary fold (fold under the breast) needs to be adjusted.

2The second possible incision, called the peri-areolar incision, is placed around the areola of the nipple. This option allows the surgeon to minimize the look of scarring for patients with darker skin.

3Lastly, a breast implant may also be placed through the armpit, via the transaxillary incision. This incision leaves minimal, hidden scars only.

How To Find The Best Breast Augmentation Surgeon

To assist you in choosing the best surgeon for you, use this checklist.

Check your credentials
Choose a surgeon who has received board certification. To earn this certification, a plastic or cosmetic surgeon must go through a rigorous training, testing, and experience process.

Observe the following:

a plastic surgeon licensed by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada or the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ABPS). As part of their general surgical training, these doctors may have received cosmetic surgery training. If you already have a surgeon in mind, you can see if they are an ABPS-certified surgeon by visiting the ABPS website. Moreover, surgeons have the option of joining the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) or the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) (ASAPS). Membership in a society indicates that the surgeon has met extra requirements. For instance, each year, ASPS members do continuing education. Members of the ASAPS practice in reputable surgical institutions. Only surgeons who have either Canadian or American board certification are accepted by these organizations. Using the ASAPS or ASPS “Find a Surgeon” tools, you can look for a surgeon in your neighborhood.
An American Board of Cosmetic Surgery-certified cosmetic surgeon (ABCS). These doctors received their first training in dermatology, general surgery, or plastic surgery. Following that, they pursued further education and board certification in cosmetic surgery. Find local surgeons who are ABCS-certified by visiting the ABCS website.
Request Experience
Find out next how frequently a surgeon has performed breast augmentations. You need a surgeon who does this procedure frequently. To accomplish your surgical aims, your surgeon will have to choose the best shape of implants for your physique. With practice, surgeons frequently become more adept at this.

Verify any complaints
To find out if the surgeons you’re thinking about have ever faced discipline, use websites that rate doctors, such as Healthgrades.com. Also, you can check the validity of a surgeon’s medical license. Check the website of the medical licensing board in your state to do that. Go to www.fsmb.org to start with the Federation of State Medical Boards.

Investigate the Facilities
Verify the accreditation of the surgical facility the surgeon utilizes. Hospitals frequently operate in this manner. Some surgical suites housed in offices lack accreditation. Visit the American College of Surgeons website to verify.

Discuss with Other Patients
Get testimonials from prospective surgeons. Speak with friends or family members who have undergone the procedure. Were they content? What did they prefer not to prefer? How would you rate the doctor’s “bedside manner”? Hearing first-hand descriptions of other people’s experiences is beneficial.

Use the Time Allotted for Your Consultation
Reduce the number of potential surgeons on your list. then make appointments for consultations. This is the time to use all of your research to confirm that the surgeon doing your procedure is someone you can trust. The surgeon must fully describe the process and be able to address all of your questions during the consultation.

As soon as you leave the consultation, you should:

Be completely aware of what to anticipate before, during, and after surgery.
Be at ease with the surgeon and how they conduct themselves.
Feel as though the surgeon is aware of your goals for the augmentation.
Feel as though he or she was upfront about whether the surgery would accomplish your goals.
Choose a Surgeon
At the end of the day, you want a surgeon who:

proper credentials
nice testimonials from other patients
you and I get along well during the consultation
