Today we’re testing out the brand new, fast-acting facial peel that recently joined the The Body Shop’s collection – their Drops of Youth Liquid Peel.
The last liquid peel I tried was Real Chemistry’s Luminous 3-Minute Peel, which I was not at all crazy about. The formula stuck to even my tiny facial hairs and was a pain to remove. But when I heard people with sensitive skin were seeing great results from The Body Shop Drops of Youth Liquid Peel, I was curious to try it out myself.
The Body Shop Drops of Youth Liquid Peel
The Body Shop Drops of Youth Liquid Peel works as a super efficient exfoliating peel for your face. In under one minute, the gel-to-peel formula gently lifts away dead skin cells, impurities, and pollutants as you massage it over your skin. In the short-term, it leaves the skin feeling squeaky clean and purified. With continued use, skin becomes smoother, clearer, and more radiant.
The Drops of Youth Liquid Peel is meant to be used after your regular cleanser, and applied on clean, dry skin (dry skin is key since the formula needs to dry up quickly to avoid over-stimulating the skin). According to the directions, you only need 2 pumps to cover the face and about 20 seconds of massaging time to allow clumps to form. After which, you can use a washcloth/cotton pad/face sponge to remove the clumps (along with any dead skin and impurities that it managed to grab hold of).
Ingredients: Aqua/Water/Eau, Alcohol Denat., Propylene Glycol, Glycerin, Carbomer, PPG-26-Buteth-26, Palmitamidopropyltrimonium Chloride, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Quaternium-80, Parfum/Fragrance, Behentrimonium Chloride, Linalool, Citronellol, Cetrimonium Chloride, Isopropyl Alcohol, Crithmum Maritimum Extract, Eryngium Maritimum Extract, Leontopodium Alpinum Callus Culture Extract, Sodium Hyaluronate, Citric Acid, Xanthan Gum

The Body Shop Drops of Youth Liquid Peel Review
I’ve been using The Body Shop Drops of Youth Liquid Peel 1-2 times a week (as recommended) for the past three weeks, and I’ve already started to see a difference. The texture and overall ‘glow’ of my skin seems to continuously improve with each use thanks to the peel’s surprisingly effective (yet gentle) exfoliating abilities. Even after the first use I was impressed – it left my skin feeling cleaner – like a deep down, ‘squeaky’ clean – with a super smooth finish.
The directions say to massage the gel over the skin for 20 seconds max. However, for me, it takes about 30-40 seconds for the gel to completely clump up, at which point I’ll immediately stop and begin rinsing. (If I go past that point – up to one minute – my face will sometimes turn red and feel a bit raw.)

After 10 seconds – the formula is still in its gel form, but is slowly starting to form clumps

Past 40 seconds – the gel has turned completely solid and formed small clumps (I went longer than instructed when doing this first application, hence the redness!)
Despite the peel’s ability to ‘grab’ onto dead skin and other impurities, the good news is that it doesn’t pull on my facial fuzz (just for that, this peel scores big points in my book!). The formula is also surprisingly easy to remove with a few wipes of a washcloth or facial sponge (though you want to be gentle, so as to not over-stimulate your skin).
Overall, if you’re looking for a quick and gentle peel that provides an extra level of exfoliation and deep-cleansing, The Body Shop Drops of Youth Liquid Peel is worth trying out. (Again, just make sure to watch the clock so you don’t irritate your skin!) I’d recommend it for all skin types, even sensitive (however, if you have extremely dry or sensitive skin, you may want to avoid this as it has a pretty high alcohol content plus added fragrances).
So, I am reviewing this most disgustingly awesome product that I have recently discovered from TBS and it’s the The Body Shop Vitamin C Glow Revealing Liquid Peel.
Product Description:
The Vitamin C Glow Revealing Liquid Peel specifically targets pollutants that are left sitting on the skin at the end of the day. Transforming gel-to-peel technology traps and gently peels off impurities and dead skin cells to unveil healthy-looking skin. This transforming gel-to-peel texture peels away dull, tired skin for a happy healthy glow. The pH of the gel helps to release surface cells. Contains our most potent Camu Camu Berry.

My Experience with The Body Shop Vitamin C Glow Revealing Liquid Peel:
The Body Shop Vitamin C Glow Revealing Liquid Peel is insane, it is so good, I can’t even tell you! It comes like a viscous, gel liquid kind of a product that you need to apply on your clean, dry skin. Once you start rubbing it on your skin, this product literally balls up and lifts dead skin cells from the skin – like how insane is that! I have never seen or used a product like this.

It works like magic! Because it is such a strong product, you are not meant to use it more than twice or thrice a week, but it is so tempting that you would want to use it everyday, but don’t because it has active vitamin C in it and they recommend to use it only twice or thrice a week.
Once you remove the “balled up” gunk on your skin, you are left with the cleanest, most “yummiest skin” EVER!!! I am not kidding! It is one of the best discoveries of 2018! I have never used something like this, it is so good.
It does not have any strong fragrance, it also didn’t break me out. It is only doing good to my skin! I am so tempted to use it every single day!
It comes in a pump packaging, and you can close the pump, and that’s why it’s very convenient to travel with. I really wish that it came in a smaller bottle because I think people would like to try a smaller version of it before going for a bigger bottle, but this is the only size available with them.
But other than that, seriously, this is most incredible product I have used so far and it is insanely good. It is good for all skin types, but if you have sensitive skin, probably ask the SA at the Body Shop store to give you a sample or give you a demo on your elbow or give you an elbow pack or something because vitamin C might or might not suit everybody, but that’s a word of precaution, but other that, INCREDIBLE is the word for this The Body Shop Vitamin C Glow Revealing Liquid Peel.
Pros of The Body Shop Vitamin C Glow Revealing Liquid Peel:
- Incredible skin care product.
- Lifts dead skin cells off the skin.
- Does not have any strong fragrance.
- Gives me the “cleanest skin” ever.
Cons of The Body Shop Vitamin C Glow Revealing Liquid Peel:
- No smaller size variants available.
IMBB Rating:
5/5. Definitely give it a try! I just love this product!
