But what about home country pride? In this guide, we review the aspectss of Breast augmentation in scotland, breast augmentation edinburgh, breast enlargement aberdeen, and What qualifies for NHS breast augmentation?

Breast Augmentation

Scotland offers breast augmentation with experienced surgeons and advanced technologies, making it an ideal choice for those seeking to achieve their goals. Breast enlargement is a major surgery that requires implants to increase size, change shape, or make them more even. It is often known as a “boob job” or breast augmentation.

In the UK, breast implant surgery costs around £3,500 to £8,000, which does not include consultations or follow-up care. However, there are some circumstances where breast enlargement can be done on the NHS, such as if you have very uneven breasts or no breasts. The cost of breast enlargement depends on the area you live in and may depend on your GP’s knowledge of local rules.

Before having a breast enlargement, it is important to consider the reasons behind your decision and take time to think about your options. To choose a surgeon, check the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and the General Medical Council (GMC) to ensure they are registered with the CQC and have a license to practice. Additionally, check the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) to ensure they are a full member of the specialist register for plastic surgery.

There are two types of implants: silicone and saline. Silicone implants are less likely to wrinkle and feel more natural but can spread into the breast and cause lumps. Saline implants are more likely to fold, rupture, or go down over time, but will safely be absorbed into the body if they do go down or rupture. Discuss the pros and cons of each type of implant with your surgeon, along with the size and shape of the implants and their placement.

Breast implants do not last a lifetime and may need to be replaced at some point. Some women may need further surgery after about 10 years due to problems with the implants or changes in their breasts.

Breast implant surgery is performed under general anesthesia and involves making a cut in the skin next to or below the breast, positioning the implant, stitching the incision, and covering it with a dressing. The operation takes between 60 and 90 minutes and may require hospital overnight if scheduled late in the day.

How is the Breast Augmentation performed?

Breast enlargement surgery is a common procedure that involves the surgical enhancement of breast shape and size. It has become one of the most popular and safe procedures across Scotland and the UK. After the surgery, patients should be able to move around soon, taking a week or two off work and not driving for at least one week. Some surgeons recommend wearing a sports bra 24 hours a day for up to 3 months after breast surgery.

After 1 or 2 weeks, stiches will be removed (unless you had dissolvable stitches). After 6 weeks, you should be able to return to most of your normal activities and your scars should start to fade. After a few months, your breasts should look and feel more natural. It’s safe to sunbathe and fly if you have breast implants.

However, breast implants can sometimes cause problems, including thick, obvious scarring, the breast feeling hard because scar tissue has shrunk around the implant (capsular contracture), a ruptured implant, creases or folds in the implant, the implant rotating within the breast, resulting in an abnormal shape, rippling of the implant, nerve problems in the nipples, not being able to breastfeed or producing slightly less breast milk than you would without implants, bleeding and clots, infection, and an allergic reaction.

Another problem associated with breast implants is breast implant associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma (BIA-ALCL). A very small number of people who’ve had breast implants have developed BIA-ALCL in the scar tissue around their breast implants. Some women have also reported having other symptoms after breast implant surgery, such as tiredness, anxiety, and joint pain.

The Breast and Cosmetic Implant Registry (BCIR) was set up in 2016 to record the details of anyone who has breast implants for any reason. This helps trace them if there’s a safety concern about a specific type of implant.

Breast cancer screening (mammogram) after implants is important to remember that you can still get breast cancer after having breast implants. You should be aware of how your breasts look and feel and report any changes quickly to your GP. Mammograms are safe and do not cause the implant to rupture.

If you have problems with cosmetic surgery or think the procedure was not carried out properly, speak to your surgeon at the hospital or clinic where you were treated. Breast augmentation surgery often involves inserting breast implants into the chest wall to enhance the size of the breasts. At La Belle Forme in Glasgow, our primary concern is patient safety and wellbeing. We use Nagor PERLE™ silicone implants for breast augmentation, which have one of the lowest complications rates on the market, including instances of Breast Implant-Associated Anaplastic Large Cell Lymphoma (BIA-ALCL).
