Plus Size Tummy Tuck Las Vegas
Men and women with hanging belly fat or stubborn areas of the abdomen where it is difficult to lose weight may want to consider a tummy tuck at VIP Plastic Surgery. Las Vegas, NV board-certified plastic surgeon Dr. Christopher Khorsandi can offer a solution to these aesthetic concerns with a tummy tuck, which is a plastic surgery that removes excess skin and fat from the abdomen. Also known as abdominoplasty, a full tummy tuck for skin removal includes tightening of the muscles of the abdominal wall. When only the skin on the lower section of the abdomen is to be removed (no muscle tightening), it is called a panniculectomy.
Loose skin and excess fat in the abdomen remain constant sources of frustration for many people. Redundant skin and fat may appear despite the effort put into diet and exercise. Pregnancy and major weight loss in both men and women can change the abdomen’s appearance in a less than desirable way. As a well-known tummy tuck plastic surgeon in Las Vegas, NV, Dr. Khorsandi can perform a variety of procedures, including:
- Full tummy tucks
- Mini tummy tucks
Please schedule an appointment to learn more about the benefits of each procedure option.
WHAT ARE THE COMMON REASONS FOR GETTING A TUMMY TUCK?
A tummy tuck can help with a variety of cosmetic concerns. Depending on the severity of skin sag, we can develop a treatment plan that aligns best with your needs. You may experience a saggy tummy because of:
- Significant weight loss
If any of these sounds like you, please know that we can provide the care you need to help you feel more comfortable and confident.
TUMMY TUCK OPTIONS
Traditional Tummy Tuck
A traditional tummy tuck removes excess skin and tightens the muscles underneath for a more toned midsection. We make the incision right above your hip bone and near the pubic bone so you can easily conceal it with clothing or a swimsuit.
Mini Tummy Tuck
For patients with a small amount of loose skin and limited muscle laxity that occurs below the belly button, a mini abdominoplasty may work best for them. These patients will have a scar that is somewhat longer than a typical C-section or hysterectomy scar (about the width of your two hands placed side by side). No scar is placed around the belly button. This procedure can help address less severe cases of skin laxity.
Panniculectomy (excess skin removal)
Patients who have excessive amounts of skin on the lower abdomen will most likely qualify for a panniculectomy. Dr. Khorsandi is a board-certified panniculectomy surgeon in Las Vegas, NV who can remove excess skin without needing to tighten the abdominal muscles. After battling obesity with diet, exercise, or surgical measures, like bariatric surgery, the skin can become so loose that it hangs over the genitalia or touches the thighs. By removing the excess tissue, a panniculectomy helps patients who have lost a significant amount of weight. They can enjoy their new bodies and can keep off the weight.
THE TUMMY TUCK SURGICAL TECHNIQUE
Regardless of the type of abdominoplasty being performed, the surgery will take place in an outpatient setting under a general anesthetic. Before the surgery, Dr. Khorsandi will outline the treatment areas, taking into account the patient’s preferred underwear and swimsuit style.
The first part of a tummy tuck surgery removes the excess skin. He will use liposuction to slim the area of excess fat and tighten the muscles in the abdominal wall with sutures. These sutures will act as an internal girdle and flatten the stomach. Lastly, drains will be placed and the incisions will be closed and bandaged. Sometimes, a pain pump may be added by Dr. Khorsandi for post-operative pain control.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER A TUMMY TUCK?
Most patients can return to light activity after 7 – 14 days of recovery. Patients should not drive while taking pain medications. Strenuous exercise may not be performed until Dr. Khorsandi clears the patient to do so, which usually occurs 6 – 8 weeks after surgery. Sit-ups and crunches are discouraged in the first several months after surgery to minimize the risk of bursting the abdominal-tightening sutures. The abdominal tissues will feel tight for at least 1 – 2 months, which is normal. Patients may experience some numbness and tingling sensations in the abdominal area. Scars will continue to fade for two years.

About Tummy Tucks
The abdominoplasty or tummy tuck will remove stretch marks, improve excess skin or overhanging skin by tightening the skin, improve looseness of the abdominal wall or stretching of the abdominal muscle by tightening the abdominal wall, with incorporating liposuction for contouring purposes*.
It is important to realize that no amount of weight loss, weight lifting, or exercise programs will improve the appearance of excess or loose skin or separated or relaxed abdominal rectus muscles. Typically, weight loss and exercise will make the appearance of loose skin less desirable and more noticeable. Liposuction alone for a patient who is a better candidate for a tummy tuck will not achieve an optimal result. Liposuction alone will not tighten the abdominal muscles and will only make stretched, loose skin overhang more after surgery. If you have only an extra layer of fatty tissue but no loose skin and you are not concerned with improving stretch marks or tightening the abdominal muscles; then you may achieve a very nice result with liposuction alone*.
The tummy tuck or abdominoplasty procedure allows our doctors to tighten the abdominal wall by using permanent sutures to bring the underlying tissue and muscle together. The abdominal skin is released and pulled downward, and the excess skin is removed. A small new opening is made in the abdominal skin to bring the navel or belly button through the skin. Liposuction may also be performed for contouring purposes to the pubic area and along the waistline in surgery during the tummy tuck procedure. The incision is well concealed along the pubic area and will extend laterally; but will be hidden even in a bathing suit. We perform mini tummy tucks, standard tummy tucks, skin excision only tummy tucks and extended tummy tucks based on the amount of excess skin and/or stretch marks to be removed, the degree of abdominal wall looseness or separation of muscles and the patients’ desired improvements*. Our doctors will recommend a specific approach at the consultation.
The tummy tuck procedure is long lasting and typically a tummy tuck with muscle wall tightening is only recommended if future pregnancies are not desired*.
The Gillian Institute’s technique for the abdominal contouring is aggressive in terms of muscle wall tightening. The use of permanent sutures to tighten the abdominal wall will result in the “hour glass figure” following surgery*. Our plastic surgeons will use interrupted and running sutures to tighten the rectus muscles (located vertically) and this will also pull the oblique muscles (located on the side of the abdomen) inward also. This tightening will correlate to the achenes and need for pain medication and muscle relaxants following surgery.
Our technique does require more time in surgery compared to more common tummy tuck techniques; but we feel our technique warrants the additional time in surgery for the ultimate, long lasting result*. If a patient is not concerned with tightening the abdominal muscles or if future pregnancies may be a possibility, and the primary goal is to remove the excess skin and any stretch marks to the abdomen; a skin only tummy tuck can be performed. A skin only tummy tuck will offer patients less recovery period and post operative restrictions based on no muscle work is performed in surgery*. If the patient’s lower abdominal area is the main concern and the patient does not want to re-position the belly button; a mini-abdominoplasty or endoscopic abdominoplasty may be recommended*.
Patients will be encouraged to ambulate every 2-3 hours directly after surgery but will likely prefer a more bent position with walking and resting at a 45 degree angle for the first 3-5 days. To ensure fluid collections (referred to as a seroma) do not occur, a drain or two drains are placed under the abdominal skin to allow any fluid that accumulates an exit out of the body through a drain system using suction. The drain(s) are very patient friendly and are easy to manage following surgery*. We also perform a special suturing technique in surgery that uses sutures in a mattress placement to decrease the risk of fluid collections. This mattress technique allows the drains to be removed in the office sooner (within 3-5 days), and to advance the abdominal skin with closure of the incision to remove more loose skin and stretch marks compared to the process without this technique*.
We also spend additional time on the appearance of the belly button. Our approach aims for a natural, depressed belly button outcome; allowing other people not to detect a tummy tuck has been performed by the appearance of the belly button and belly button opening*. The belly button is not flat and should not appear as if it was “stuck on,” an indication of a tummy tuck procedure. The belly button stalk is the original but a new opening is made for the location of the belly button stalk. Our surgeons like to allow some fullness on both sides of the belly button and to place sutures to pull the belly button more downward, indication a natural depressed belly button appearance*. If a hernia is also present, we are able to repair the hernia as well.
In some cases, staging with liposuction either before or after the tummy tuck procedure may be recommended to give the best results possible with the fewest risk of complications*. If a patient is not at their ideal body weight or if the patient has a significant history of smoking; liposuction of the abdomen first can minimize the thickness and fullness to improve the contour with the second staged tummy tuck and to increase blood flow with re vascularization to decrease risks of healing with the second stage tummy tuck procedure*.
We recommend maintaining your preoperative weight, because if you gain weight in the future, the liposity will be added to your figure, just not typically the abdomen. If you were to get pregnant in the future, your abdominal wall will re-stretch without problems as well as the skin envelope but you may undo a significant portion of our contouring results*. If this occurs, patients will tend to return after all pregnancies are completed, and have us re-tighten the abdominal muscles, and skin envelope again. This is not ideal but can be done if it occurs, which is not common.
Patients are required to stop smoking and use of all tobacco products a minimum of 6 months prior to surgery to decrease the risk of complications related to healing and decreased blood flow to the abdominal tissue and skin resulting in skin necrosis and incision separation. Smoking has been shown to decrease blood flow by 30% to the incision and abdominal tissue resulting in complications related to healing, which will significantly increase the recovery period.
Ideally, the longer the smoking has ceased the better in terms of reducing the risk of complications.
We would also recommend you are within 15-20 lbs of your ideal body weight to optimize the final result and to decrease the risk of complications related to healing.
Planning the Surgery
14 days recovery period for most tummy tuck procedures; 7-10 day recovery period for skin only tummy tuck (with out muscle work) procedures. You will be required to Limit twisting/bending movements for the first 2 weeks and lifting restrictions of less than 10lbs for the first 4-6 weeks.
You will need someone to take care of you for the first 48 hours after surgery. You will need a driver for the first week. You will be required to return to the office the day after surgery for a post-operative appointment.
THE DAY OF SURGERY
The procedure is usually performed under general anesthesia and the procedure will last approximately 3-5 hours depending on the type of approach. This procedure is outpatient but you are able to stay overnight at JKS Surgery if desired.
This procedure is one of the more uncomfortable plastic surgery procedures due to the extensive muscle work performed in surgery. Patients can stay overnight at the surgery center and may opt to stay 1-2 days in a nearby hotel. Light dressing are placed after surgery and skin glue adhesive with steri-strips are placed along the incision for the first two weeks. A scar treatment for the incision is started at two weeks after surgery to improve the scarring. Light activity is possible within 14 days and will become more comfortable over 2-3 weeks after surgery*.
Patients will have a drain(s) placed to the abdomen and will not be allowed to shower until the drain is removed in the office. The drain site is located in the pubic area. Patients should refrain from vigorous activities for >at least 6-8 weeks. Topifoam compression pads are placed under the compression device for the first 1-2 weeks to reduce abdominal swelling and encourage skin contraction. The compression device is recommended for the first 6 weeks to reduce swelling and provide support. The majority of swelling will be resolved by 6-8 weeks*. Post-operative external ultrasound is also recommend to reduce swelling, areas of firmness, and encourage the lymphatic system to positively respond to the swelling and healing process.
Note: It is important to address any concerns with The Gillian Institute at the time of your consultation. There is some risk, as with any surgical procedure. Minor complications that do not affect the outcome occur occasionally. Major complications are unusual. To reduce post-operative complications, our doctors recommend you be within certain weight requirements and absolutely no tobacco use. The Gillian Institute can explain the procedure and potential complications to you in detail, and she can assist you in determining if an abdominoplasty is right for you.
What is Abdominoplasty?
Abdominoplasty, also called a tummy tuck, is a surgical body sculpting technique that eliminates fat and skin while tightening the abdominal muscles to produce a firm, contoured stomach. The stomach is a common problem area for men and women of all ages, even those with strict diet and exercise routines. These problems can be worsened by pregnancy or the natural aging process. If you’ve developed stubborn fat or sagging skin in the abdominal region, a tummy tuck can help you achieve a sculpted appearance. As a result, you can enjoy enhanced muscle definition and improved confidence.
How Much Does a Tummy Tuck Cost?
At Gallaher Plastic Surgery & Spa MD, we take a personalized approach to every tummy tuck procedure. This means that the cost of your treatment will depend on variables such as your personal preferences and unique cosmetic goals. As a result, we cannot provide you with the exact cost of treatment until you visit us in-office for a consultation. If you are concerned about the cost of your treatment, we are proud to offer plastic surgery financing to help make our treatments more affordable. In addition, we offer CosmetAssure insurance with every cosmetic surgery, so you can go into your treatment with confidence and peace of mind.
What is a Mini Tummy Tuck?
A mini tummy tuck serves the same purpose as a traditional tummy tuck, but utilizes smaller incisions and addresses a smaller area of the stomach. A mini tummy tuck requires a shorter recovery period and results in less scarring, so it may be ideal for patients looking for a less-invasive treatment. The mini tummy tuck only targets the area of the stomach below the belly button, so it is best suited for patients looking to address stubborn fat instead of overall muscle definition.
What is the Tummy Tuck Procedure Like?
The tummy tuck procedure is performed with general anesthesia in order to ensure your safety and comfort throughout the procedure. During the procedure, incisions will be made in the belly button and along the pubic hairline. Through these incisions, we will remove excess skin and fat to produce a firm appearance. We will also tighten the abdominal muscles to enhance muscle definition and further enhance the contours of the stomach. After the desired results are achieved, we will close the incisions, completing the treatment.
What is Recovery Like Following a Tummy Tuck?
After a tummy tuck, you can expect varying bruising and swelling around the treatment area. We will apply drains to the treatment area, which allow fluids to escape the treatment area for a smooth recovery. You may have to take two weeks or more off of work and other activities in order to heal and allow these effects to subside. You will have to avoid strenuous activities, such as exercise, for at least a month after treatment in order to ensure proper recovery, and swelling may persist during this time.
What Kind of Results Can I Expect from a Tummy Tuck?
The tummy tuck procedure removes fat and skin from the body, producing results that can be permanent if well-cared for. Patients are encouraged to maintain a healthy diet and exercise habits to ensure that their results last as long as possible, as weight gain can affect these results.
Plus Size Tummy Tuck Miami
For women and men, a tummy tuck for plus size individuals is a cosmetic surgical procedure that aims to get rid of excessive fat, skin, and tissue in order to tighten abdominal muscles. The cyclic gain and loss of weight can result in a lot of loose skin in the waistline area, as well as a large sagging midsection that is not in proportion with the rest of your body. Over the years, many men and women who needed an overweight or extreme tummy tuck to achieve their desired cosmetic goals were turned away for being plus size or overweight. However, it’s now possible to reap the benefits of this procedure thanks to advances in plus size plastic surgery.
Dr. LaBarbera, Gilbert plastic surgeon, has helped countless overweight patients achieve a slimmer and firmer abdominal profile for tummy tuck on obese patients. For many of Dr. LaBarbera’s patients, this procedure does a lot more than just improve the appearance. It also restores muscle strength, reduces midsection weight, repairs abdominal muscles and stabilizes the back. Dr. LaBarbera will carefully examine each one of his high BMI clients and come up with an individualized treatment plan to achieve the desired results.
Benefits of an overweight tummy tuck
A plus-size abdominoplasty can be life-changing. A tummy tuck on overweight patients offers multiple benefits such as:
- Clothing that fits better
- Flatter, smaller tummy
- Exercising tends to be easier after healing
- More comfort in your clothing
- Increase self-confidence
- Tighter tummy muscles and a trim figure
- No more hanging skin folds or chafing
Ideal Candidates and BMI requirements for Tummy Tucks on Plus Sized People
Individuals who have lost a lot of weight make up the majority of extreme, overweight tummy tuck patients. You might be an ideal procedure for a large, obese tummy tuck if you meet the following criteria:
- You are physically and emotionally healthy
- It is medically safe for you to undergo elective surgery
- You are anatomically a good candidate
- You are neither pregnant nor planning to get pregnant
- High BMI but typically limiting at 42 Body Mass Index
If you are suffering from asthma, diabetes, high blood pressure or heart disease, then you may not be a proper candidate for any type of elective surgery. Dr. LaBarbera is double board-certified as well as a plus size plastic surgeon with intense experience helping high BMI clients achieve their cosmetic goals with abdominoplasty surgery. Dr. LaBarbera will carefully examine each one of his higher BMI patients, typically with a limit of BMI 42, and come up with an individualized treatment plan to achieve the desired results. During your initial consultation at his office, he will conduct an evaluation and let you know whether you’re a suitable candidate for this procedure.
Dr. LaBarbera’s Plus Size Surgical Approach
During the plus size abdominoplasty, the surgeon will make an incision very low over the pubic bone, from hip bone to hip bone. This allows for the resulting scar to be concealed underneath underwear or bathing suits. In some cases, an incision may be made vertically around the navel. Once an incision has been made, the surgeon may then use liposuction to contour the abdomen. The abdominal muscles will be sutured together in order to restore strength to this area, and any excess skin removed to get rid of stretch marks. A very important aspect of the surgery is to reposition the belly button that needs to be moved to a natural-looking position. Dr. LaBarbera utilizes the latest modern surgical techniques to minimize scarring and at the same time ensure optimal results from the treatment.
Overweight Tummy Tuck Recovery
Following a full or mini tummy tuck procedure for overweight individuals, patients should set aside a minimum of two weeks off of work and other daily activities. Any form of exercise should be avoided for at least 4 weeks, and individuals who do have physically demanding jobs will need to contact Dr. LaBarbera for an estimate of how much time to arrange for recovery.
The recovery phase rolls out much easier when patients make prior arrangements. Any form of movement will be difficult since abdominal muscles tend to be sore over the first few weeks. Patients who have small children should seek full-time assistance over the first few weeks. It’ll also be hard to lift anything that is heavier than a couple of pounds immediately after the procedure. Your initial plus size abdominoplasty consultation is a great opportunity to pose whatever questions you may have about the surgery or the recovery process.
The Cost of Tummy Tucks for Plus Size Patients
The cost of a tummy tuck on plus size individuals varies depending on the specifics of the procedure. Dr. LaBarbera performs plus-size Abdominoplasty as an outpatient procedure. During your first visit to Jude LaBarbera MD Plastic Surgery, he will listen to your concerns and offer recommendations to help achieve your image goals. This initial visit is the best time to ask any questions that you may have about this particular procedure. Patients should make prior plans for an uninterrupted recovery period.

DO YOU HAVE TO LOSE WEIGHT TO GET A TUMMY TUCK?
Patients do not have to lose weight to get a tummy tuck, however patients are always encouraged to be at their ideal weight before abdominoplasty. Because some patients cannot seem to get at their ideal BMI for the abdominoplasty, the high BMI tummy tuck is an option for plus sized women (and men), who will need liposuction in tandem with their tummy tuck.
WHAT IS A TUMMY TUCK PLUS SIZE?
This is a plus size plastic surgery procedure that is combined with liposuction and designed to flatten, tighten, and reshape the tummy as well as the waist for high BMI individuals who are overweight from 150lbs to 200lbs. The BMI of 42 is about the highest their BMI should be to undergo a tummy tuck.
AM I TOO LARGE FOR AN OVERSIZED ABDOMINOPLASTY?
Patients who have excessive fat but not too much loose skin tend to be better candidates for oversized abdominoplasty. Dr. LaBarbera is able to create an individualized treatment plan that works for every patient no matter how large they are. In some cases, it may be necessary to perform the procedure in two stages.
WILL I GET THE DESIRED RESULTS?
Whether you’re looking for a large tummy tuck at 150 pounds, 220 pounds, or even 250 pounds, Dr. LaBarbera can help you attain the desired results. Plus-sized abdominoplasties have become one of the most popular cosmetic procedures for post-pregnancy women, as well as men and women who have a high body mass index. No matter how oversize you consider yourself to be, the surgeon will conduct a thorough evaluation and discuss an appropriate surgical plan for removing hanging skin, abdominal fat, as well as tightening and strengthening abdominal muscles.
It’s not easy being plus size. You’re always worried about being judged, getting the right clothes to fit, and generally feeling like your body is not ideal. And while I can’t change society’s perception of beauty or make you any thinner, what I can do is help you feel more confident in your own skin by performing tummy tucks for plus size patients like yourself. By removing excess fat and skin from around your stomach area, we can help you regain confidence and feel more comfortable with your body again!
How To Decide If A Tummy Tuck Is Right For You
Before deciding to have a tummy tuck, you should be aware of the procedure and recovery as well as possible risks and complications.
The first step is to understand what you want from your surgery and what those goals are in terms of appearance, function, and lifestyle concerns. As with all major cosmetic procedures, there are many options available for achieving your goals. A thorough evaluation by an experienced plastic surgeon who has done hundreds or thousands of tummy tucks can help you determine which procedure is right for you based on your anatomy and preferences.
A consultation with Las Vegas plastic surgeon Dr. David Shafer will allow you to discuss all aspects of this surgery while gaining understanding about his approach towards achieving aesthetic results that meet your needs and expectations while minimizing complications during recovery (if any). In addition, he will take time with each patient so no question goes unanswered before making recommendations based on their individual needs related to the tummy tuck procedure itself (which may include liposuction) as well as postoperative care following surgery including both pre-operative instructions as well as guidelines regarding nutrition/dietary changes prior to going under anesthesia which can affect blood sugar levels unpredictably leading up until discharge from a facility where outpatient procedures such as these take place–not just at home after leaving hospital care!
Why You Should Get A Tummy Tuck
It’s not every day you see supermodel-esque figures walking around in public. The majority of us don’t have the luxury of living a healthy, balanced lifestyle and have to work hard for our bodies, but it can be discouraging when we put so much effort into being fit and healthy only to see our stomachs sag after pregnancy, weight loss or even just aging.
Tummy Tucks are performed for a variety of reasons:
- You want to improve your body image
- You have loose skin after massive weight loss (or gain)
- You are self-conscious about your belly area due to stretch marks from pregnancy or excessive weight fluctuation/gain over time
What Is The Best Age To Get A Tummy Tuck
You should be at least 18 years old, in good health and have realistic expectations about the results of your tummy tuck. You should not have any medical conditions that would prevent you from having surgery.
Your age is not a factor as long as you are healthy enough to undergo surgery safely. If you are still growing or if you’re pregnant, wait until after your growth spurt or pregnancy is finished before considering a tummy tuck procedure.
What Is Your Recovery Time?
You will be in the hospital for two to three days, but it depends on how you are feeling and if anything goes wrong. Your doctor may keep you longer if they feel it is necessary, or release you sooner if everything goes smoothly. You will need at least one day after being released from the hospital before returning to work or exercise. You should not lift heavy objects for six weeks after surgery, which means no vacuuming or lifting large boxes during this time either!
This can be painful for some people who have a lot of excess skin left over from losing weight. If this happens to you, ask about having your remaining skin removed during your tummy tuck surgery so that it doesn’t bother you later on in life
When Can I Return to Work?
While you are recovering from your tummy tuck in Las Vegas, it’s best to avoid strenuous activity for at least 2 weeks. If you have a desk job, the time off should not be an issue. If you work outside or have a physically demanding job, however, it may be necessary for you to take longer time off of work.
If you’re unsure how long it will take before your body is ready for full-time duties again after having surgery on your stomach in Las Vegas, contact your plastic surgeon and ask them what they recommend based on their knowledge of your specific situation and medical history.
When Can I Return to Exercise?
It is important to understand the time frame for returning to exercise after your tummy tuck surgery. For example, after a mini tummy tuck, you can begin exercising six weeks post-op. A full tummy tuck (with liposuction) allows 8-10 weeks of recovery time before exercise is possible, while mommy makeovers require 8-12 weeks’ rest following the procedure. Body lifts take 12 weeks before returning to normal activity levels, and breast augmentation surgery allows three months before resuming physical activity. Breast lifts may also take up to three months before they are ready for strenuous exercises like running or weightlifting; however, it’s best not to lift too soon after surgery since scar tissue could develop around the surgical site and cause pain or discomfort when exercising later on down the road!
What Causes Stomach Bulging?
We know that the following can cause belly bulging:
- Fat. Fat is a natural part of our bodies, but it’s not always easy to control how much fat we accumulate or where we store it. Some people naturally have more body fat than others, and this is determined by genetics. For example, if you have three or four times as much abdominal fat as your friends do when you’re all at healthy weights, then it’s likely that you inherited your mother’s or father’s genes for storing more fat in their abdomens than other women and men do; if so, then your excess body weight may be harder to lose than theirs would be.
- Pregnancy. Having a baby can put pressure on the abdomen and stretch out ligaments over time (even after childbirth), which makes parts of the lower belly protrude even more than usual; the good news is that most women regain their pre-pregnancy figures within six months after giving birth! If this isn’t possible for you though (or if you don’t want it), then liposuction might be an option worth considering because lipo removes excess fat from beneath skin folds without affecting any underlying tissues like muscles and nerves; furthermore: liposuction won’t leave scars like tummy tucks do so there won’t be any visible marks left behind once healing has finished happening!

The most important thing to remember is that everyone’s body and situation is unique, and so the best way to find out if you’re a good candidate for a plus size tummy tuck is to discuss your specific circumstances with your surgeon.
A plus size tummy tuck is usually a full tummy tuck which is an invasive procedure.
A tummy tuck is a very invasive procedure. The cost of a tummy tuck depends on many factors, including the condition and anatomy of your abdomen, your skin quality, the extent and type of incisions needed for your surgery, anesthesia costs, hospital fees etc. Most importantly remember that everyone’s body and situation is unique so the costs will vary from one person to another based on their own particular physical attributes and desires.
Tummy tucks are often performed under general anesthesia but there are ways to save money by opting for local or regional blocks instead – which can result in less pain during recovery but also increase risk factors overall

A tummy tuck that is designed for overweight or obese patients may be called a plus size tummy tuck, although this is not an official medical term.
A tummy tuck that is designed for overweight or obese patients may be called a plus size tummy tuck, although this is not an official medical term.
It’s important to note that this procedure is not recommended for people who have lost only a little weight and still have excess skin. A regular tummy tuck can help remove the fat and skin left over after significant weight loss, but it won’t help with loose abdominal muscles or skin hanging over your pubic area (abdominal bulge).
As you can see, there are many different factors that influence the cost of a tummy tuck.
As you can see, there are many different factors that influence the cost of a tummy tuck. The first thing to consider is the surgeon. The same procedure performed by two different surgeons may have significant variations in price. For example, one surgeon may use more expensive medical equipment which would increase their fees. On the other hand, another surgeon may regularly provide large discounts or even offer free consultations and surgeries to those who cannot afford them otherwise.
Another factor that affects cost is where you live and where your surgery takes place. Obviously if your surgeon is located closer to home then transportation costs will be lower than if they were located across town or on another continent! However this doesn’t mean that traveling abroad for surgery might not be worthwhile since prices vary greatly between countries too (as shown on our graph above). Additionally having surgery during off-peak seasons like wintertime means discounted rates whereas summertime can cause increased demand leading up to higher prices overall due solely on availability issues rather than any real change within services themselves.”
For many women, weight fluctuations are common after childbearing.
Weight fluctuations are common after childbearing.
Weight fluctuations can be caused by hormonal changes, which can lead to stretch marks and loose skin.
Weight fluctuations can also cause a loss of muscle tone, which means that the tummy tuck will not tighten up as much as it would with someone who hasn’t had children.
The most important thing to remember is that everyone’s body and situation is unique, and so the best way to find out if you’re a good candidate for a plus size tummy tuck is to discuss your specific circumstances with your surgeon.
The most important thing to remember is that everyone’s body and situation is unique, and so the best way to find out if you’re a good candidate for a plus size tummy tuck is to discuss your specific circumstances with your surgeon. Your surgeon should be able to help you decide if you are a good candidate for this procedure, as well as help explain what the risks and benefits of the procedure are. Additionally, they will also discuss possible complications with you.
When deciding whether or not to have the procedure done, it’s important that we understand why we would want one in particular:
- To improve our self-esteem and confidence
- To reduce excess skin caused by pregnancy weight gain or other weight fluctuations (e.g., weight loss)
The best solution for people who have been unable to lose weight through diet and exercise.
This is not a quick fix. It is a long-term solution that can be very expensive and uncomfortable, as well as painful. If you are hoping to have surgery quickly, if you want an overnight fix, this is not what you’re looking for.
This procedure may or may not be covered by insurance depending on your provider, so consult them before making any decisions about the surgery.
We hope we were able to shed some light on the subject of plus size tummy tucks and help you decide if this is something you want to pursue.
