When To Start Cavitation After Tummy Tuck
If you’ve had a tummy tuck, you know that you’re going to want to get back in shape afterward. But is it safe to start cavitation after tummy tuck surgery? You’ll want to wait until your body has healed before you undergo any additional treatment.
In this post, we find out When To Start Cavitation After Tummy Tuck, ultrasound therapy after tummy tuck, when to start wood therapy after tummy tuck, and What happens if I do cavitation everyday?
You may be thinking about undergoing cavitation after tummy tuck because you want to improve your body contour and remove fat deposits from areas like the waist, hips or thighs. Cavitation is a medical procedure that uses sound waves to break up fat cells in order to reduce their size or eliminate them altogether.

If you’ve had a tummy tuck, there are a few things that need to happen before you can safely undergo this treatment. First, your body needs time for all of its wounds from the surgery itself to heal completely before anything else is done. Second, it’s important for you to check with your doctor about any medications or supplements that may interfere with cavitation treatments as well as any other factors that might make them unsafe for someone who has recently had surgery such as low blood pressure or diabetes complications requiring medication changes (such as insulin adjustments).

If you have just gotten a tummy tuck, it’s important to wait until your body has healed before undergoing any additional treatments. Cavitation is a non-invasive, medical treatment that can help with loose skin and excess fat. However, it’s best to wait at least 6 weeks after surgery before beginning cavitation. This will give your body time to get used to its new appearance and make sure that everything is healing properly without causing any further problems or complications.
If you’ve had a tummy tuck but still want some extra help with tightening up the skin on your stomach area, talk with your doctor about whether cavitation would be right for you after surgery.

You’ll want to wait until your body has healed before you undergo any additional treatment. Cavitation treatments can cause bruising, swelling or even infection if performed too early. It’s also a good idea to wait until the incision is completely closed and the swelling has gone down before undergoing this treatment.
If you have questions about when it’s safe for you to undergo cavitation after tummy tuck surgery, speak with your plastic surgeon before scheduling an appointment with a laser center or spa.
When Is It Safe To Undergo Cavitation After Tummy Tuck
When it comes to cavitation, it’s important to remember that your body needs time to heal after a tummy tuck. This means that you should wait at least 6 weeks before undergoing this procedure.
Cavitation is also not something that should be done immediately after your tummy tuck because this can cause complications and may even increase the chance of infection.
If you’re thinking about having cavitation after tummy tuck surgery, here are some things you can do beforehand:
It’s common for many women to experience loose skin and unwanted fat around the stomach area, even if they are of a healthy weight.
It’s common for many women to experience loose skin and unwanted fat around the stomach area, even if they are of a healthy weight. A tummy tuck surgery can help you get rid of the fat and tighten your skin in order to achieve the perfect body that you want.
However, it is important to note that it will take time for you to lose weight after a tummy tuck procedure. You may need months or even years before achieving your desired figure as no diet or exercise program can achieve results overnight. In addition, losing weight after a tummy tuck means that there would be excess skin on one’s body because fats have been removed from these areas and this can affect their appearance when they gain back more pounds throughout time.
There are several options out there for reducing fat and excess skin around the abdomen. Liposuction can help remove fat from the body permanently, but it will not get rid of excess skin.
There are several options out there for reducing fat and excess skin around the abdomen. Liposuction can help remove fat from the body permanently, but it will not get rid of excess skin. Liposuction is a surgical procedure that involves removing excess fat by making small incisions in the skin and suctioning it out with a tube connected to a vacuum pump. This procedure may be used alone or in combination with other procedures such as abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) to achieve your desired results.
When should you start cavitation after tummy tuck? It depends on what type of surgery you had done and how long ago it was performed. If you underwent liposculpture only (without an abdominoplasty), then there’s no need for additional treatment because your results will be permanent; however, if you had an abdominoplasty without liposculpture then we recommend waiting at least three weeks before beginning any sort of skin tightening treatments like ultrasound cavitation or Ultherapy® .
A tummy tuck removes this extra skin and tightens the muscles underneath, providing the person with a smooth, flat abdomen without the need for further surgery down the road.
A tummy tuck removes this extra skin and tightens the muscles underneath, providing the person with a smooth, flat abdomen without the need for further surgery down the road. The procedure is done through an incision in either the lower abdomen or through one in the lower back. The technique used depends on your age, overall health and other factors.
If you are thinking about getting a tummy tuck and have any questions about it, talk to your doctor or surgeon before deciding whether or not to have this surgery done on you.
Many of our patients also choose to get rid of stubborn pockets of fat via ultrasound treatments after their tummy tuck. It’s important they wait until they’re fully healed first!

- Wait at least six weeks before undergoing cavitation
- Wait until the incision is fully healed (typically this takes about six weeks)
- Wait until the swelling has gone down; this typically occurs within two months or so, but it could take up to three months for some people. If you still have visible swelling after three months, please call your doctor.
- Your scar will be pink and puffy during this time; this is normal and will go away in time. The most ideal time to undergo cavitation would be when your incision has completely healed and any excess fluid has been removed from under your skin, which may take up to nine months post-surgery. In addition, it is important that adequate healing time elapses since many patients experience significant bruising following surgery—this can last anywhere between one month and six months depending on how extensive their procedure was!
How Long You Should Wait Before Cavitation After Tummy Tuck
- When you have fully recovered from surgery, wait until the swelling has gone down and you can exercise without pain.
- Wait until your energy levels are back to normal and you are feeling comfortable with your new body.
- If you have had liposuction, wait until the area is healed before cavitation treatments are done on that area. In general, it’s best to wait three months after liposuction before undergoing any other cosmetic procedures just in case there are any problems that could cause complications later on down the road (such as infection).
ultrasound therapy after tummy tuck
There are numerous exciting new applications of ultrasound therapy in cosmetic surgery. Ultrasound has been used for cosmetic purposes since around the early 1980s. Widespread therapeutic usage, safety, precise control and excellent, predictable results have made ultrasound an important addition to cosmetic surgery practices such as mine. New and current uses of ultrasound include facial and body skin-rejuvenating treatments, reduction of stretch marks, treatment of contracture and scar tissue such as around breast implants, and the pre- and post-operative treatment of plastic-surgery patients to accelerate healing and recovery after procedures such as face lifts, tummy tucks, and liposuction. Ultrasound applied over certain creams contributes to greater effectiveness through deeper and more thorough penetration of the products.
The mechanisms of action of ultrasound should be considered in terms of four categories. First is the thermal effect, which relates to the heat generated into the deeper tissues, especially the collagen, and the benefits derived from this. Second is the mechanical effect, which relates to the high-speed vibrations that act on the tissue just like a micro-massage. Third is the cavitation effect. This refers to the production of countless microscopic droplets of oxygen from the vibrational process. Fourth are the biological effects, which include blood-vessel dilatation, improved blood flow and circulation, sonophoresis, improved lymph flow, muscle relaxation, reduced inflammation, and pain relief.
Skin treatments are more effective because deep cleansing, exfoliation, and moisturizing are improved. This is achieved by high-frequency ultrasonic vibrations that penetrate deep into pores and hair follicles to break up old, dead cells; secretions; and oily blockages. Also, the skin metabolism is increased, which causes lymph flow to increase, which in turn causes waste products to be removed more rapidly and effectively. The more waste products removed, the better the penetration and absorption of your skincare products. Deep-tissue micro-massage improves skin tone, softness, and texture. All combined, these factors create younger looking skin. Treatment sessions take about 30 to 45 minutes and patients report feeling immediate tightening and softer, smoother skin. The skin looks suppler and friends will comment about your “healthy glow.”
Stretch marks, fine lines, and sun-damaged skin are improved through dermapheresis or sonophoresis. These are the terms that have been applied to the use of ultrasound in stimulating deeper penetration of products into the skin. To achieve this even better, we bring together the positive effects of microdermabrasion, ultrasound technology, and potent creams. Microdermabrasion removes the thickened and sun-damaged outer layer of skin. Next, ultrasound application can deliver special creams deeper into the lower layers of the skin. In this way the ultimate effects of the creams are much more potent. Multiple treatments are usually required, and the treatment is safe for all skin colors and types. The number and frequency of your treatments depends on your skin type and response to therapy. Improvements are usually seen by the fourth treatment.
Scar tissue and contracture is improved tremendously with ultrasound. Most believe this is due in large part to the thermal effects of ultrasound with the loosening, stretching, and re-orientation of collagen tissue. This has demonstrated great effects in speeding the healing and discoloration of firm or bruised areas occasionally seen after facelifts, tummy tucks, or liposuction. Patients with breast implants and some hardening have appreciated softening of the implants and breasts. Treatment sessions last 15 to 30 minutes and involve application of the ultrasound over the firm areas followed by home stretching and massaging exercises and special cream applications. Six to twelve treatments provide the best results with improvements usually seen after four sessions. Home exercises and massage preserve the results.
Fat Reduction. There has been a great deal of interest generated recently about the effects of ultrasound on fat reduction. This has already been well documented in the role of ultrasound in preparing the fat prior to liposuction and during the liposuction process. In these cases external ultrasound assistance (EUA) and ultrasonic assisted liposuction (UAL) are both very successful and well received. Recently, ultrasound has been described in its use as the sole modality for its dissolution of fat. Here saline fluid is injected into the area to be treated, and the ultrasound applied for five to eight minutes without liposuction. In even a few sessions, patients have noted improvement in areas of small fatty accumulations such as the jowls.
Unconsciously, ultrasonic products have become common commodities in our everyday life. Ultrasound has been used to shatter kidney stones, examine the fetus during pregnancy, research dolphins’ language, train dogs, and clean contact lenses. Ultrasonic sound waves are the basis of this technology and are generated at a frequency that is above the level heard by the human ear. The rate of ultrasound means the numbers of vibrations that occur in a second. Hertz is the unit of measurement.
Medical and cosmetic ultrasound units are manufactured to typically deliver ultrasonic waves at frequencies of 1 and 3 MHz with duty cycles ranging from 20 to 100 percent. Duty cycles less than 100 percent are called “pulsed” ultrasound while a 100-percent duty cycle is called “continuous.” For our purposes, most machines are utilized at 1 to 3 MHz with continuous and pulsed modes. Ultrasonic sound waves cannot be transmitted through the air and need some sort of liquid medium though which to pass. For this reason a gel is applied between the treatment head of the machine and your skin.
SummaryThese patients are before and after liposuction. Note how much contour improvement is achieved. Ultrasound is routinely used in these patients to promote fast resolution of swelling, quicker healing, less bruising, and better skin molding and shrinking down around the reduced fatty framework
when to start wood therapy after tummy tuck
The surgical effect of liposuction on the lymphatics is unique. Liposuction disrupts or destroys most lymphatic capillaries within the targeted adipose tissue. Fortunately, lymphatic damage from liposuction is not usually permanent; lymphatic capillaries regenerate within a few weeks to several months after being damaged by a liposuction cannula.
Lymphedema is edema caused by inadequate lymphatic function resulting from the lack of development, destruction, or obstruction of lymph vessels or lymph nodes. These causes include primary lymphedema from impaired development of the lymphatics, and secondary lymphedema from acquired physical destruction (surgery, radiation, infection) or obstruction (malignancy, parasitic infection).
The secondary post-liposuction lymphedema is unique in that it usually resolves spontaneously with time, typically within 2 to 9 months.
Lymphedema is the result of a failure of the lymphatics to remove large-molecular-weight proteins from the interstitial space. Although both blood and lymphatic capillaries reabsorb interstitial water, the lymphatic capillaries are the only route for absorbing proteins from interstitial tissue. No other route is available for the removal of excessive interstitial fluid proteins. The excess proteins simply accumulate indefinitely, along with a proportionate increase in osmotically attracted interstitial water.
The lymphatic capillaries throughout the adipose tissue undergo damage from cannulas. Lymph capillary injury is an inevitable consequence of liposuction, but the extent and the duration of liposuction lymphedema can be significantly reduced by postoperative care. Early and continued efforts to clear out as much blood-tinged anesthetic fluid as possible are immediately beneficial. Once the drainage fluid is allowed to become trapped within interstitial micro-loculations, the edema becomes persistent, resolving only when the injured lymphatic capillaries regenerate.
How does Lymphatic Drainage Therapy Help after Liposuction?
Since the Lymphatic System is the area of surgery is not working properly, when we are working with this type of surgery, we must help recreate the pathways and manually move the lymph to healthy areas. Lymphatic Drainage Therapy help you clear out lymphatic fluid and help re-educate your system for optimal function.
Most physician recommend that you receive Lymphatic Drainage after Liposuction to help you to get back to your daily life more quickly.
What happens if I do cavitation everyday?
Bodysculpting treatments are hugely popular at the moment with hardly any spa or clinic not offering some sort of fat-reducing service. While fat-freezing cryolipolysis, and fat-melting laser treatments can be very effective, they are on the pricey side as well as requiring at least an hour of clients’ time.
A faster, less painful fat reducing treatment is Ultrasound Cavitation, which can literally be performed during your lunch break. However, it requires diligent post-treatment care in order to show visible results. Founder and Director of Lux Allure, Carly Porter, explains the importance of her fat cavitation at-home after care plan:
I explain to my clients that the after care is crucial for achieving the best results from ultrasound fat cavitation treatments. The after care for ultrasound fat cavitation is detailed, however it is worth sticking to. In my experience, the treatment will only work at its optimum if the after care is followed.
To ensure your body responds well to ultrasound fat cavitation, drink 1.5L of water prior to and following your treatment. Stagger 2L intake of water over 24 hours, for three days post-treatment. I always have my 2L bottle with me, which encourages me to keep up my water intake.
The ultrasound fat cavitation treatment works by eliminating fat and toxins via the lymphatic and urinary systems. The body requires three days to properly eliminate the fat and toxins after a treatment. Treatment intervals also need to reflect this; at least three days must pass between each session. For most clients, I recommend a minimum of between six and ten fat cavitation treatments for best results.
It is important to topically stimulate the treatment area following your session. When I have fat cavitation performed on myself, I use a body brush in the shower to promote movement around the area. I use a body moisturiser daily, and I find that liberally massaging moisturiser on the treatment area is also beneficial. I do this daily to prevent fat and toxins from becoming stagnant and difficult to eliminate.
Maintaining a low calorie, low carbohydrate, low fat, and low sugar diet for 24 hours pre-treatment and three days post-treatment will help achieve the best results. This is to ensure your body utilizes the triglycerides (a type of body fat) released by the fat cavitation process. If suitable, I also encourage my clients to stick to this diet as much as they can. Many find this to be a great starting point for maintaining a healthier lifestyle in the future.
A minimum of 20 minutes of elevated heart rate cardio exercise is required post-treatment. This is best to be done immediately after the treatment, and for three days following. This is to ensure the stored energy released by the cavitation process is burnt off. If cardio is not your style, this where infrared sauna sessions may assist, as it has a similar effect on the body.
Additional steps can be taken to achieve optimum results. You can assist your body to flush toxins by following your treatment with the use of an infrared sauna. Lymphatic drainage will help eliminate released toxins from the body. This can be done post-treatment via a massage or using the cavitation vacuum treatment. Both can be completed at Lux Allure immediately after your treatment.
By following the ultrasound fat cavitation after care plan, the results will be visible. It is a non-invasive treatment which requires no downtime, and offers results which are comparable to liposuction.
