In this guide, we review Where To Inject For Brow Lift, botox brow lift technique, how many units of botox for brow lift, and How many Botox areas are needed for a brow lift?
Where To Inject For Brow Lift
The brow lift is a unique procedure because it is the only facial cosmetic surgery that can be performed under local anesthetic and sedation. The procedure itself takes about 40 minutes and involves injections to the forehead, eyebrows, lateral tails of the eyebrows (called “cul de sacs”), and crows feet. Each area requires between 5-10 injections and should be spaced out by about 1 inch apart from each other when performed correctly.

Injections to the forehead
The forehead is the area between your eyebrows and above your eyes. It’s also where Botox is most commonly injected, because it can be used to treat both frown lines and crow’s feet.
Botox has been shown to be effective in treating headaches and migraines as well as chronic migraine sufferers who experience pain on one side of their head or face.
Injections to middle of the eyebrows
- Injections to the middle of the eyebrows can be used to reduce sagging and tighten loose skin.
- Use .25cc (a quarter of a cc) of Restylane or Juvederm for each side.
- Inject in multiple small doses to avoid bruising, at least 1/4″ apart from one another and always with anesthetic cream first!
- Wait at least 4 weeks before repeating this treatment
Injections to lateral tails of the eyebrows
The next step is to inject a small amount of Botox into the lateral tails of your eyebrows. The lateral tails are the area between the inner and outer edges of your eyebrows, so this injection has to be made from a side view (just like for forehead wrinkles).
The injections can be made in either a straight line or curved pattern, depending on what you prefer and what looks best on you.
Injections to the crows feet
Injections to the crows feet are another treatment option for patients who want to lift their brows. In this procedure, Botox or Dysport injections are used to relax the muscle that lifts your upper eyelid when you smile, which causes your brows to raise and look more youthful.
- It’s important that you inject into the right location in order for this procedure to work effectively. If you inject too far out from where you want it (or too close), it could affect other nearby muscles and cause unwanted side effects such as drooping eyelids or double vision.*
- The amount of product used depends on how much filler is needed for each patient — usually about 0.5 ml per injection site.* Patients typically need three sessions spaced four weeks apart before seeing results.*
botox brow lift technique
Eyebrow lifts were once only possible through surgical procedures. A patient would have to go under general anaesthetic and have the muscles above their eyebrows reduced through an incision made in the hairline. This would lift the eyebrows into a higher position on the forehead and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, creating a more youthful look.
Now there is a much more popular method of achieving the same results: Botox injections. Botox in the eyebrows can create a Botox brow lift that has comparative results with surgery without the negative side effects.
But just how effective is Botox at lifting the eyebrows, and how exactly is it done? At The Dr Hennessy Academy, we provide instruction on our Botox and filler courses regarding techniques such as this, and we have included some information relating to what we teach in this article.
How does Botox lift eyebrows?
Using Botox to raise the eyebrows works by manipulating the muscles that keep the eyebrows in place: the corrugator supercilii, the procerus, the orbicularis oculi and the frontalis muscles.
The corrugator supercilia and procerus muscles, located in between the eyebrows, are depressor muscles and apply a downward pulling force on the eyebrows. The frontalis muscle, located within the forehead, applies an upward pulling force on the eyebrows.
Therefore, by injecting Botox into the corrugator supercilia and orbicularis oculi, you can relax the muscles pulling the eyebrows down which will in turn emphasise the strength of the frontalis muscle. This is how to lift your eyebrows with Botox, by lifting the eyebrow arch into a higher position.
Because the eyebrows are lifted higher, and the muscles that wrinkle the eyebrows are now suppressed, wrinkles in the forehead will be reduced.
Who should have a Botox lift?
Botox should be used as a preventative measure to delay the arrival of these wrinkles, so that the muscles do not have the time to create strong deep-set wrinkles.
In the case of a brow lift, anyone seeking a more youthful appearance should consider treatment because Botox does lift the eyebrows into a position that makes the face appear bright and vibrant.
For specific cosmetic issues that a Botox brow lift can fix, the most common that we see are saggy eyelids, low-set eyebrows, and forehead wrinkles.
Eyebrow lift Botox before and after
Viewing a Botox practitioners’ catalogue of Botox for eyebrow lifts before and after images, you will be able to get a sense of their experience with this treatment.
Post-treatment, a patient’s eyebrows should be as symmetrical as possible. This is regardless of whether they were symmetrical to begin with.
However, your eyebrows are completely unique to you. Through a consultation with your chosen Botox practitioner, you will be able to gauge what you should look like after treatment.

Botox brow lift technique
When training to become a Botox technician, it is important that you learn the Botox placement for brow lifts so that you can perform the treatment effectively and without causing side effects.
For example, if you inject too close to the eyebrow, then you can actually weigh the eyebrow down with a greater force than the frontalis muscle applies in the opposite direction, which will cause the eyebrows to sag more.
This is why Botox brow lifts in the UK should always be performed by trained and certified professionals with a background in medicine or healthcare, in order to keep standards in the beauty industry high and prevent patients receiving poor treatments.
Where to inject Botox for brow lift
Eyebrow lift Botox injection sites are located between the eyebrows in the procerus and at the ends of the eyebrows in the orbicularis oculi.
The reason that these are the Botox sites for eyebrow lifts is because they are the muscles that pull the eyebrows down. By weakening those muscles, you alleviate that pull and allow the frontalis muscle to raise the eyebrows higher.
How many units of Botox for a brow lift?
In general, around 15 units of Botox should be plenty for an eyebrow lift, although it could be more or it could be less depending on the individual.
There is no definitive answer on how many units of Botox an individual needs for an eyebrow lift because everyone has eyebrows that are in different positions.
For example, someone might have one eyebrow that hangs lower than the other. In this case that person would need more Botox in one area of their face than the other to create a symmetry across both eyebrows.
